T3M -The 3 Musketeers

Every so often when I’m at an event or hear something in passing or take a glimpse at a Facebook status I witness people commenting on the lack of unity within the gospel music scene.

Now being in the scene myself, to a certain degree I agree and can say that as human beings we may NOT ALL get along or be each others bum chums or co-d’s…however there is alot of LOVE  and unity that you don’t see, love that takes place BEHIND THE MIC, a lot of respect for each other and support that is never REALLY TALKED ABOUT !We may be Christians but this does not necessarily mean we will ALL gel or relate with EVERYONE we come across, and this is not a bad thing it’s simply a life thing. This also doesn’t mean we hate each others guts,it just means that  bottom line is we understand the call and purpose that binds us together in unity across a range of ministries and are able to come to a mutual point of co-existence when needed.

Over the years I have seen the scene gradually pull together and support each other ,whether its jumping on each others tracks, retweeting or selling each others CDS..so we on the uprise -LETS KEEP IT COMING:)

The GREATEST example of this progression is highlighted in the poster above – T3M!!!!

The 3 Musketeers ( Victizzle,Guvna B and Faith Child) have all joined forces to help push the envelope of keeping GOSPEL MUSIC within the four walls…infact the walls are being bulldozed and being rebuilt at the prestigious INDIGO O2 venue. If there ever was a GRAND display of humility and unity in the scene this HAS to be it -3 BIG NAMES coming together to share a stage and a venue to promote their faith and share the music God has given them.

Now you would have thought this would have sold out by now because of the understanding of what this means to the scene as a whole and what it stands for in regards to its unity……but tickets are still on sale and I am yet to see the SOLD OUT sign on the website.

BLOG FAMILY!….. I want us to throw our support behind this initiative and movement not for the sake of just an event but for the sake of making a stand and leaving a mark. I want what we do underground to shine overground so that our voice has weight and impact behind it ,so that when they ask us what is the hope that we have in this Jesus or this ‘faith’ we keep talking about , we will have a ready answer to give them whether,on GMTV ….MTV…or BET ….lol

Ladies and Gentleman T3M will be taking place on :

2years on….we are still here learning and trying to find our way and are currently walking into a NEW phase of studio photography.

MUM!…Icie’s Writing Again!

July 14, 2010 1 comment

Every year I seek to pour all lessons learnt, mistakes and experiences into a 3min FREESTYLE ,this I have entitled ‘ INHALE EXHALE’.

From 2008 the yearly outpour has supported by some amazing producers such as Simple Siymon,Your Opinion and SP.The lyrics are raw and uncut ,giving a snippet into my life both spiritually and candidly. It is a hard process to go through as it loves one VERY vulnerable. However it is my hope that in doing so issues and topics can be brought to the surface that are not readily available to discuss in the mainstream church.

This year will be the 3rd ‘PLATINUM EDITION’ instalment ,featuring the likes of Guvna B,Astar and Favour!!!

The FREE download will be available from FRIDAY 16TH JULY 2010-EXCLUSIVELY from our home music page: http://www.doubleakfamily.com

Be sure to support and help spread the word:)

Black Stars Still Shining!!!!

By NO stretch of  the imagination do I dare present myself as  an avid, passionate follower of football,it’s a great game but doesn’t exactly get me screaming from the rafters….I don’t why…just never been something I followed..went to a QPR match once a just thought you know what??? ..ITS FREEEZING COLD,I CAN’T EVEN SEE THE PLAYERS AND THERE’S NOOOO COMMENTARY !!!… IM GOING HOME LOL!!

However every 4 years the country gatherS around a box set in pubs and homes across the country to see countries battle for that coveted prize. Having watched last weeks ENGLAND exit  the country now turned its interests towards GHANA fever for this FRIDAY.

-

As I made my way down to GOLD COAST having met up with one of the Spartans, there was clearly a buzz in the air  and a streak of excitement in Brixton as the once overlooked underdogs were looking at a potential dream of WORLD CUP glory – even Lethal B had placed a £1,000 bet on Ghana winning the World Cup , which would have netted him a cool £96,000!!!!!

As I approached the Gold Coast queue I smelt a whiff of ‘HYPE’ when I saw admission was £10 !!-£10 to watch a TV ….YOU’RE mad!!!After scowering the streets of Brixton we were able to stumble across a bar about 5mis down the road and proceeded to find a good spot to watch the game from.

As the first half began , through a sea of  over zealous sweat and heat I could feel the energy ,vibes and unity of the crowd and though im no footy fanatic -I felt one with the crowd and one with  moment!  There was a joy and anticipation that was unparalleled and joined everybody at the hip-no matter your background or origin

The game was especially  frustrating at times due to the consistent fouling and acrobatic diving by the opposition, and when it came down to penalties the nail-biting procedure was well underway as ground was gained and so woefully lost.

However ,although Ghana lost I DO SINCERELY believe that they WON IN OUR HEARTS!(cheesy and a cop out ..I KNOW) BUT …they made  us believe in another African team besides just Nigeria, they rose up against people who had maybe written them off , they brought Nigerians ,Ghanaians and Jamaicans together under the same roof in unity without any stabbing or gunshottas in the airrrrrr!!

Ghana I salute you for your persistence and belief , I salute you for your strength and determination and finally I salute you for making the World Cup interesting…for adding spice and life to it !!!!!

..they may be out of the World Cup but if you look closely  .. THE BLACK STARS ARE STILL SHINING!
