REAL MEN SALSA!!!!

Today I had a really HORRIBLE day dealing with some pains and hurts from the past that i thought were done and dusted however they were brought up again. Jesus knew i found it hard to talk to him all day so he arranged a special treat for meto restore my JOY: SALSA DANCING!!!!

Guess who was my dance instructor: FONTI  from HEARTLESSCREW ..lol he’s a heavy dancer!!!!

FELLAS: If you’ve ever struggled to know what it is to be a man

…you NEEEED to get yourself down to a SALSA class ASAP!

LADIES: If you’ve ever struggled to know what it is to be a LADY……you NEEEED to get yourself down to a SALSA class ASAP!

You learn how to dance but you also learn what it is to be treated like a woman and to behave like a REAL man both skills which you can apply to your GENERAL life!

It was my first ever class so I totally had NO clue as to what I was doing, but JAYESS was in the building and a few of my JH LADIES:) hang tight Cane of  Sugar,Cynthia and Nikky!!heres what I learnt from my first class:

MALE LEADERSHIP: One of SALSA’S cornerstones is that the MAN MUST LEAD at all times, he directs the steps and leads the woman where she is supposed to go, he inititates the moves and turns. I thought this was priceless to learn because when applied to everyday life i saw that as a man i must also ensure I am leading and initiating in all areas of my life ,and across all relationships in my life.

BOLDNESS:Because this was a NEW environment and a NEW experience there was the common fear of feeling inadequate and foolish , however I learnt that you MUST always be willing to TRY new things and not be afraid to get things wrong , if you apply yourself in your area of fear you will soon begin to master that area and eventually master that fear.

LIFE EXPLORATION: Some black people tend to stay put and comfortable in their OWN culture and customs , however while you are young and have the chance why not use it to embrace and learn about different cultures from around the world.If you have your passport ready and at hand, use it to explore this vast world. There is more to life than  Morleys, Ed Hardy and a BMW 1series….EXPLORE LIFE!

When you die..it must matter that you lived!!!!!

This is where my mind is at right NOW!! Hope it inspires!!!

 

Talk to ME first!!

 

 

Have you ever been in a hard financial situation and ran to a trusted friend to bail you out, and while doing that your parents find out and say this statement: “Why didn’t you come to us first ?”

In that statement ,though it seems like an unnecessary rant , there is aloooooot of pain and hurt behind it because our parents ,want to help us and expect us to come to them for any problem whether BIG or SMALL.

Well it’s exactly the same with God!

When we run to call our O2 friends,or speak to our FACEBOOK status about the troubles of the day without going to tell GOD first theres some pain and hurt on His part because its like …

“..but i thought we were close…i thought i was your all and you could share  absolutely everything with me?”

It’s like having  a veteran close friend who you speak with EVERY DAY,who then one day  has an abortion.Thing is THEY didn’t tell you …you found out she went and told someone else.God wants you to share everything INTIMATE and NON-INTIMATE with him first before you tell anyone else,He wants that intimacy ,priviledge kind of conversation that others are not privy to.He wants to solve ourproblems with His peace and love.

At time He WILL use friends and family to extend thosesolutions to us ,but he wants to be the first point of call in our lives.

Instead of turning to my weaknesses and my stress releivers,I tried this yesterday and just involved him through the day talking about how tired I was, talking about my emotional state, my financial state…EVERYTHING open before my BEST friend.You dont have to be kneeling down , you could be speaking to him while picking out a dress in TOPSHOP or playing FIFA 10…..whenever ,wherever…..he is always ready to listen:)

Why not give it a try:)…for GOD is the ONLY person that knows what your going to say before you say it!

LONG LIVE OUR TEARS!

 

A CLIENT  AT WORK CAME IN AND STARTED crying today…hmmmmm:( ..tears came out of her , words came out of me:

 Every tear has a story that has yet to be told
A history locked in its liquidity and moisture
As the salty droplet travels down the highway of each cheek
The depths from which it came from at times speak of a pain too harsh to utter 
In a world of severe pain and tumultuous obstacles
suppression is often the order of the day
However ever so often there is a glitch in the Matrix
A slip in the social order of our hearts that commands everything to be kept in
In this glitch, at this point in time, pain breaks the barracks of suppression

Rises up in boldness and sends its representative to break through to the surface

Pain and Tears-two inseparable lovers ,forged in relationship from the inception of emotions

When you see a welling or tear form

Ignore not its cry for help but pay it homage through your acts of concern and care

Be sensitive to know when tears need affection and others distance

Read the times and seasons to know when a tear needs more than a mechanical..”are you alright?”

Before you turn your back on a heart bursting at the seams

Quantum leap yourself into that persons shoes and imagine what your needs would be in that instance

No tear travels on its own , instead they march out with a family

in allegiance to an oath that says :”one tear for all”

an oath that cannot allow them to sit in observation

but warrants action and responsibility to show love

so if you happen to see a break of a tear in conversation

or hear a gentle sob as you counsel

If you happen to glance over at your fellow companion while visiting that dark room

that shows those projected moving images

and you see a tear begining to ride that highway

know that that film has ruptured a nerve in the heart

know that what will proceed in liquid form is a biographical history of either pain or joy

a waterfall of ambiguity

Do not be so quick to wipe away all traces of your waterfalls for they are your badges of honor

they are testament to where you were or are now..whatever the case you have made it through and are still on the battlefield

of this life swinging one last time

fear not the embarassing reproach of man

Recoil not out of fear of  being deemed weak

For your ability to feel is your strength

Your ability to be in touch with a world that is out of touch is your weaponry

Where would LOVE find the boldness to raise its head each morning if shame was its cloak

No! let us embrace our tears and hold them high for the world to see!
